Southport Playhouse

Southport Playhouse is an non-profit communuty/parent run Short-session Childcare Centre in Port Melbourne, offering care to preschool children (usually 18 months to 5 years old) in a caring and nurturing environment.

It offers short-session programs on Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesday and Fridays from 9.30 am to 12.30pm and a kinder program on Thursday from 9.30am to 1.00pm.

Playhouse was established in 1985 by a group of mothers who wanted an alternative to crèche/long day care.

Playhouse continues to provide short-session care and over the years it has become a much needed community service, providing a wonderful environment outside the home for children to interact with others of a similar age, and for parents to take a break and also meet other parents.
